DESOLATE HEART

DESOLATE HEART

Long ago his heart flew high
Now on the ocean floor it lies...

Once anchored deep
Yet free to fly
Now unattached
It slowly died...

Another heart
With bright blue eyes
Had come along
Then left his side...
And without warning
She put a hole,
In the bottom of his soul.

As he capsized,
She sailed away,
Leaving him there to decay.

His withered heart
Was never found
No more heart beats,
Left to pound.

The wreckage surely still remains
Desolate....
In constant pain.
