~Devoid~

~Devoid~

~~~~~~~~~~†~~~~~~~~~
You wear a fractured smile now.
I sense such sadness, yet somehow
lines of your face have furrowed deep.
You laugh outside, inside—you weep.
Sucking, searing, soulless tines.
Devoid of comfort, vicious vines—
they’ll bleed you dry ‘til nothing’s left.
So broken now—you pray for death..
You must speak now or hold your tongue;
the day has dawned, your time has come.
Will no one speak on your behalf?
Foul jesters mock you whilst they laugh.
It’s said a dog will have its day.
The sun has set, it's time to pay.
Dig deeply, dear, I’m sure you’ll find
you’ve got another bone to grind.
Fresh blood flows freely, undiluted—
rivulets rip, your soul's polluted.
The vines of angst, awash in fear,
They have you in their clutches, dear.
Talons honed to sharp perfection,
No time left for introspection.
What direction will you take?
You're so unsure your body shakes.
We die a little more each day;
a viscous rot, rife with decay.
Where love once thrived, like supple fruit,
 devoid remains the dying root.
