Dewali ~ Festival of lights

Dewali ~ Festival of lights
I Remember for every dewali in Trinidad
We all use to decorate the streets
Then I use to go by all Hindu friends
Fir all the tasty foods and sweets
And their parents would make carry out bags
To take back home for family
And many would just send it homeĀ
So many bags of foods and delicacies
Our tables use to be so fullĀ
with food and all kind of goodies delight
So very year we would look forward .
For dewali - the festival of lights
Diwali marks the people celebrationsĀ
For the return to ayodhya of lord Rama
He returns from the wilderness to his kingdom
After defeating demon king ravana
It was the victory of good over evil
In the epic story of Ramayana
And also the slaying of the evil demon
King Narakasura by Lord Krishna
Demon king Ravana had 10 heads and 20 arms
He saw and fell in love with Rama wife sita
so while rama was hunting in the forest
Ravana then plot to kidnap her
So he disguises his servant name maricha
As a golden deer to lead Rama
And lakshman away in the forest
Before he leave Lakshman drew a circle around sita
to protected her and told her don't step out of it
But ravana turn himself as a poor beggar man
And come to ask her for food and water
Then turn back to his self and holds her hand
sita was so happy to see the golden deer
and rama said he will bring it to her
but ravana wicked servant maricha
keeps leading them deeper in the woods away from sita
She cried out to rama for helpĀ
and the fierce bird Jatayu attacked ravanaĀ
But ravana cut off the bird wings
And when away with the princess sita
Sita then broke and threw her necklace beads
So that Rama can follow to come and save her
rama and lakshman found and slay ravana and NarakasuraĀ
And then they return to his kingdom in Ayodhya
And in rejoice the people light the streets
with dewas in every houses celebrating
With foods,sweets ,music and dance
To welcome home their beloved king
And that is the origin of diwali
a great event in hinduism to commemorate
And every year all around the worldĀ
Diwali are being celebrated
Sorry but i have to end this poem now
Because my Hindu friends are at the gate
With bags of foods and goodies
And Iām drooling so much I just can't wait
