Dial Me Heaven

Dial Me Heaven

They came to pick me up - 'Uber' to heaven,
cheaper than most terrestrial fares was given;
people I knew as we drove along Appian Way,
maybe some of them were those I didn't pay.

They said they wanted 'interest' - didn't I give them?
I suppose not enough to make it happen again;
the white car drove thro' blue tree-lined roads,
with picket fences, letter boxes for fancy abodes.

On some of those letters, they were stamped 'Earth,'
all those miles with kisses for what they were worth;
'This is your space,' they told me, behind a gold curtain,
for the non-believers whose lives were completely in vain.

As I relaxed with my pina colada, you came to me,
an ethereal vision of love and heavenly mystery.
