Directionless

Cosmofunnel Exclusive

Directionless

One phrase, one word, one first impression.
Cascading into stanzas of subtle imperfections.
Lost voice, lost sound, I won`t feel the same.
If I`m scared to talk to the hearts disdain.

But far away over horizons border.
Where my iron chains can`t reach the water.
I`ll find my feet, I`ll finally breathe.
Whether is above the waves. Or underneath.

Hidden and spiled in Soylent Green.
Everyone`s so absorbed in all their themes.
Wants, pleasures, desires, needs.
Whilst I`m floating in the directionless.
I`m legless out at sea.

Am I swimming in the senselessness?
Am I full or am I fasting?
If questions banish the directionlessness
Then why don`t I bother asking?

What am I afraid of?
What do I fear?

When your decisions are driving you,
How can you steer?

I have been posting on Facebook under Alias Max Denver, though I still want to write for Cosmofunnel exclusively. I hope you enjoyed. Thanks so much for your ever continuing support~

Hi Max, lovely to see you still posting here. I do hope you are enjoying fb :)Ā

I love this because for me it speaks of detachment.Ā

"Hidden and spiled in Soylent Green.
Everyone`s so absorbed in all their themes.
Wants, pleasures, desires, needs"
Here you recognise that you are surrounded by people focused on an intent/desire

"Whilst I`m floating in the directionless.
I`m legless out at sea"
Yet here the sense of feeling detached and adriftĀ

Wonderful visuals and sense of frustration. Vivid emotions throughout Max

Brilliant šŸ‘Ā

Hi Gwen, thanks so much for your kind comment!! I always love how you manage to break down the meaning of my poetry. You really hit the nail on the head with this one. Honestly, sometimes it feels like we are the only ones truly out in the blue. Stay safe and well my friend~ I hope everything is well with you~

So True Max. I think us poets truly drift about, observing life. Never thoroughly feeling attached to society. But I also think that enables us to view life from many perspectives. Stay safe and well my friend :)Ā

Max, forgive for arriving late here but your poem was well worth the wait.
Wow! So much mind banqueting food for thought served up and questions needing life's and one's inner soul, seeking honest straight answers.
Reads like an inner turmoil and forever struggling and fighting the Absolute, which never yields a conclusion, Just smoke and fog, for that's how frustrating it is.
A labyrinth poem with no cool easy answers just dead ends and more queries and inquiry.
Enjoyed reading this one Max and your reference to Soylent Green is masterful to read and a real wake up call to any dumbed down society in general.
Hang in there Max and hopefully (work and DIY allowing) timewise back tomorrow night to read more and catch up.
All the best to you.
You friend, Shaun.

Been a bit lost recently, losing my confidence in writing but I`ll be alright. I`m really glad you liked my write~ To be honest, it was a bit of a tough one. But I wanted to put that reference in a poem for ageeesss. I hope to get back into the swing of things shortly my friend. Thank you so much for your generous comment. Talk soon, sincerely, your friend Max

Good to hear Max and hang in there.
And my late father, my old man had a phrase that's apt and it's this..
Keep chipping away and slowly but surely you'll get there.
See and read you soon my friend.
