Distance

As I stare into the distance my palette numbs,Â
As I hunger for the sight in the distance.
My plate awaits me with unattended surprise,
Of my taste for the sight in my view
For the hunger that I need,
The hunger of the beauty in charge of my mind.
It locks me into a camera waiting to focus,
It awaits my look for the look that it deserves,
The look that it is neglected of.
Keep looking at the plate that satisfies your hunger,
As I look at the plate that is so clear.
Keep the drink that is vintage,
As you do not look to see,
As if you’re are blind to the sight
That exists in the distance thatÂ
Should be seen and felt in the hearts of all that can see.
If I was blind in thought before, I am not now,
As I watch you eat and drink and unaware, not knowing that you are.
Look as I into the nowhere, where all that exists is real,
Unlike your hunger, for only the food and drink that awaits you.
While others await your absence and abstinence,Â
From the sights that should be seen and the origin of beauty by manÂ
and not by God, who gave you a gift so neglected, right in front of you, no recourse.
Open your eyes and focus into the distance, the night and the sight that awaits you.
Open your mind as your palette takes a deep breath to look.
Close your mouth and feel for once the beauty of the distance,
In the distance, for the distance, about the distance.
Take aside the ship you are on and enjoy the beauty,
of the bridge that awaits your attention.
Brooklyn awaits your neglecting sight!
