Do You Know a Woman's Life
I am not
here
for the
amusement
of you
peeking into
my life
through
my words
Yet you are addicted
To my reply
Though you'd care not to admit it
And rail at my truths
what do you see
when you read
what I have to say
I see beauty
I see rage
I see heart broken desire
Loss
Redemption
does it make
you want
to seduce me
or do you want
to save me
from my
vastly
wicked
ways
It makes me want
to own you
to mould you
to make you more
to make you less
to tear you from your hurt
to give that which you will not abide
lying open
vulnerable
willing
to participate
in the games
you love to play
Is it not all a game?
You are not unwilling
I sense you enjoy all sensation
Be it warmth
Be it blood
satisfaction its own reward
It is the only reward
but I wonder
what will become
of a new day
when our
pregnant moon
has slipped to
the other side
of the world
You will still be there
The words will still flow
I will still be here
And you will not speak into the blackness of the void
when passion
has been spent
lips still bruised
from your last kiss
the last kiss
is merely the last
before the next
will you still
want to save me
when you have all
that I had to give ...
When you stop giving
There will be nothing left
To save

What do I see when I read what you have to say, Deb?
Well...
❝I see passion
I sense great loss
I see beauty
I see rage
I see wisdom
redemption...❞
...or perhaps this is merely a rhetorical question and requires no answer at all.
The words we write we leave behind as our legacy. If we are fortunate enough to make it into print, we become, in a sense, immortal.
Beautifully written, mate!
