Do You Remember?

Do You Remember?

Do you remember way back when,
Back to where our love began,
Did you know it was going to last forever,
We’d always go to bed together.

Slowly snuggled beneath a sheet,
Our bodies met, our intertwined feet,
I would caress your body, we had no fear,
A tender touch, that made goosebumps appear.

We would lie in bed and talk about things,
Kept you guessing on when we’d exchange rings,
We would laugh and everything was lots of fun,
And kiss each other passionately when the day was done.

You cared about me with all your heart,
We couldn't wait for holidays to start,
We would travel to islands and bask in the sun,
Remember that day that i got on the rum?

Those days of carefree were memories to treasure,
The great times we had, you just could not measure,
I had you and you had me,
We would cuddle and kiss for the world to see.

I am a man but i have not grown up,
I still want my cake and a king size cup,
Why can't we still be like that now,
I have lost the way, can you show me how.

Another great write. I love reading poems where people are at in their lives... Being real... Just vulnerable and out there with their emotions. I feel your pain! Loved it!
