Does the Devil live on?

On the 10th month of the 12th day
An angel cried as the devil died so the gods could take him away.
For they heard the prayers of her guardians call
Sending him forth, next to her he stands tall.
And many demons soon after did come
Summoned by the devil for the angel had won.
Destiny granted her voice that would send
The devil to follow his fate to the end.
For his lies and deceit had taken their toll
It was time for the angel to play her true role.
Inviting the devil into her home
Their lives would be bound by a future unknown.
As he taught her of vengeance she soon saw the light
Could never be seen by a man with no sight
Every night they would fight, living two separate lives
He was doomed for destruction crashing his motorbike
Later that night she broke down in despair
Where she saw him lay lifeless, machines feeding him air
At this point, unaware of the crimes she would find
That the man she had loved was far from her kind
The women, the drugs, the lies became known
When the grieving angel found the truth on his phone.
The very next day the family came, took all his belongings
No remorse they dealt pain
So how was an angel to prepare, to cope
With her brain damaged devil leaving her without hope
Fourteen days pass and on that very day
She says to herself…you were not meant to stay
As my light shone upon you, darkness showed you the way
Now it’s out of my hands should you come back to play
If it’s darkness you seek, there you’ll eternally lay
Unable to think, no more power to say
Carey I love you because I’ve walked away.
