Doll face

Doll face

Society is killing its own children
Like placing nooses around their necks
Humanity torturing its younger brethren
and writing unreasonable cheques
Little girls who deny perfection
eventually grow used to rejection
See, a doll face is for your own protection
And society wishes for a whole collection

The trick is to make them insecure
Tricking and lying until one’s voice is sore
To point out their flaws from an early age
Once she hates her face we’re on the same page
The quicker they learn, the better
And if she begs daddy for a surgery, let her

Little girls pumped with silicone
Doctors drawing lines on her cheekbone
Looking all fully grown
Little girls pointing at their shiny selfies
“Make me look like this, please”
Line after line
Stitch after stitch
Stay still, try not to twitch
I’m nearly done with your redesign
I want to make you divine
so have patience, little witch

Smooth skin made of porcelain
Glossy giant-size baby eyes
Bony hips and plump cherry lips
and forcing feet into shoes that don’t fit
and mothers playing dress-up with their favorite little doll
ever since they first learnt how to crawl
So innocently tearing each other apart
So nonchalantly crushing one’s own heart
The World sure could use a restart!

Before the little girls go insane
Realizing a doll face is impossible to attain
For it all to have been in vain
Yet they went through all that pain
with nothing to gain

Could you adults care to explain?
The point of this constant strain
Is there something wrong with my brain?
For something to be so normal yet inhumane
Is it weird for kids to constantly complain?

In the end only dolls will remain
The plain and the mundane
all died trying to become one
Where are all the kids? There are none

Sad Girl

I couldn’t quite find the right tags (like Media and Social media) but hopefully the message got across anyways ^^

You have portrayed this message perfectly.
This is an exact reflection of how society has come to be over the past few years - I can only imagine the next 20.
It's a sad sight to see - the world had so much potential to be better than ever before and we have all kinda messed it up haven't we? x
