DON'T JUDGE ME

DON'T JUDGE ME

Some people spend a lifetime

In their world of hierarchy

Passing judgement; passing over

What we’re really meant to be

Act subhuman; or so perfect

That we hold our heads too high

Cannot see the lives around us

Or the hurt that’s passing by

Life is for forgiving

Not to hold our heads in shame

The turmoil of our past cruel lives

Preclude us; make us lame

Holding on to hidden secrets

Choked and gagged by lonely fears

Gripped by what life throws at us

So desperate to stay near

To what we know and what we’re scared of

Stay secure in distant past

But the loneliness just cripples you

‘Til the feeling cannot last

More compassion; understanding

For some sad and tortured souls

Who all that ever want in life

To reach their personal goals

Be happy and be peaceful

Smile and be set free

From their own internal battle ground

All they need is us to see

So when we sit in our glass houses

Spending time just throwing stones

Remember we’re ALL human

Not a world of heartless clones .......

Rachel!  Excellent write!  I've never lived in a glass house but have certainly had folks throwing stones at me from one!

Ha ha, thanks Val!  You know what I think we all have but sometimes I don't think we realise just how guilty we all can be of chucking the odd stone even in passing flippent comments or thoughtless comments. Perhaps in life we all should be a little less judgemental.  Not meaning to sound like a girl from the 60's but 'make love not war' sounds like a damn fine idea ha ha ha!  Cheers Val:)

Great poem Rachel and very true, if people had a little more compassion the world would be a better ride.

Excellent flow, great but subtle rhyming. TOP CLASS 5*S FROM ME XXXX:)

I like that Jason, the world is a ride and sometimes it's a rollercoaster and sometimes it's like a boat on a calm sea lol!!  We all should be a little bit more compassionate I guess.  Thanks for your kind comments Jason and your ever appreciative 5*s :)xxxx
