Don’t Snowball Me

In the Winters, when I was just a lad, and a snow would on us fall;
If it was the kind that was wet and sticky, one could make a great snowball!
There was a spot at our street’s bottom, where some of us would hide;
With our missiles round and ready, when a car would we espy!
.
It would be heading in our direction, it’s driver innocent of sin;
But when he got within our arms range, the bombardment would begin!
His car would get really pelted, with our snowballs very hard;
And before he knew what hit him, we’d be running from the yard!
.
Some would stop to try and catch us, their efforts of no avail;
For we knew just where to run to, perfect spots for us hightail!
Minutes later, when the coast was all clear, we’d return to our secret roost;
To successfully lambast another, and our egos give a boost!
.
.
Snow is from Heaven
But our snowballs were from Hell
What little Devils

Hello Larry...
Chicken brains for brains...
I never wanted to hurt anyone more than those types...
If my kids thought about it they were grounded for a week...
If they did it first offense they were grounded for two weeks...
They weren't doing it a second time...
People had heart attacks and killed for stuff like that...
You left out the part of rocks inside, sometimes...
It almost killed my Grandmother and my Mother...
I drove their Routes and I was looking and waiting for it to hapoen to me...
I wonder why it's a crime, now?
Things people find amusing...
#@&@#& up!!

Hi Sparrowsong,
You are absolutely right.
When I look back on these nasty little deeds, I am embarrassed.
But we were young and naive.
However, I assure you we NEVER put stones in our snowballs.
Thanks for the scolding,
Larry xxx
Larry I have say I am guily to of throwing snow balls at cars as kid you never see the danger in doing it you just no its fun and you get away with it but ones you grow up then you see the danger of it it changes your mind about doing it It can do lot harm and damage Ones I throw a snow ball at car that had the back windows open it went through the window and out the other window it was amazing
Hi Greg,
We all were little devils when we were young.
Now, when we look back at the naughty things we did, as adults, we realize how dangerous they could be, but, at the time, we found them to be quite funny.
I'm so glad we don't get spanked for them now.
All my best,
Larry xxx
hi my wonderful friend Larry,
We've had a huge amount of snow in England...and My little boy was throwing snowballs at people's windows...thankfully the neighbours saw the fun in it and threw some back at him
as it's what kids do...hahaha
Snowtime frolicking
fun times remembered with glee
as we play once more

My Dear Lorna,
Sounds like you have some great neighbors. Who won the snowball fight?
Your haiku brings smiles

We are going to publish it now.

Hell, Larry. Kids will be kids, and contrary to some who might like to think they were the perfect little angels, I guaran-damn-tee you none of us were.
We used to string 100 pound test deep-sea fishing line across a busy intersection that was tied off on both ends to garbage cans on either side of the street.
You can just imagine what happened.
As I stated early, kids will be kids. Now allow me to add boys will be boys.
Nicely done, sir.
~Dean Kuch ?
Hi Dean,
Here I thought snowballs were bad, but you guys were really "the dangerous dudes".
Oh well, as you say "Boys will be boys".
Thanks for the great comment.
Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
Yeah, we were a little bit "out there", Larry, that's for sure.
You're more than welcome, my friend.
