Down In The Jungle

Down in the jungle where the tiger runs,
I was too smart for you and all your guns,
earned my stripes
with black and orange mystery,
in the shadows with my fearful symmetry.
I used to be a taxi driver in my past life,
but now I can pad around with less strife,
to think of all the fools I ferried around,
now I can get where I'm going with one bound.
I dropped the drunks off and all those latinos,
who'd crossed the border where traffic comes and goes,
I remember some poets who moaned about the meter,
I said it's mine, not yours and switched off the heater.
I woke up in a furry striped body, shit - it's me,
at least I was away from all that Earthly acrimony.
