Dream Sequence

Dream Sequence

I woke up from a dream but it still carried on,
a passage with paintings on the wall, shined upon
by sunlight and shadows beckoning me to come,
to people in the distance but there were none.

The paintings were for each year of my strange life,
some in colour, some in black and white with strife,
they were gone, distant, like old childhood memories,
there was Mona, looking at me, old Da Vinci mysteries.

You were there, with long black hair, blowing behind,
from a magic breeze which cooled anger in the wind,
we held hands, children ran by, walked to perspective,
they grinned, no ulterior motive, taught us to forgive.

Taught us that we will be here again to share love,
if we opened our hearts always to heaven above.
