Dreaming of the circus

I turned my wheels and headed to the sparkle in your eyes
Driven by the unrelenting and seductive pull of love’s illusion
With your light in my vision I could only see blue skies around
Beauty suspended my disbelief like an accomplished magician
With my bags packed at my feet, I was your wide eyed runaway
Turning my back on what I had and seeing the world only your way
You were all I ever needed in those tender times of unrelenting bliss
I never gave a single thought to losing my way in the smoke and mist
Taken by the moment and never looking ahead, I loved being in your circus.
And now that the tents are taken down, I stand alone in the blowing dust
Smiling like a naughty boy with his stomach full of Coke and popcorn
Knowing that I’d do it all again without a moment lost to contemplation

Hey Curtis, you are such a graceful writer, seems like every time I read you, you get better........that was gorgeous my friend...........tony
Incredible write Curtis.
Wow. This is deeply poetic. We often get lost in the affairs of love, and the other person's dreams/direction. And we do so willingly. Then the end comes. But we would do it all again in a flash.
Every line in this piece is aesthetic. Well written.
