Dreamland Sailing

Dreamland Sailing

Deep inside the devil’s machine
There I hid, in my bed of flesh
Unsmiling Mama tucked me in
Hidden away beneath her summer dress

When Mama went sailing, she brought me waves
I dreamt of wearing a sailor tee
and a sailor hat, as we sail the sea
I swam inside Mama’s veins

Mama said that we are slaves
Bound by fate in shackles of gold
Some are lighter, some are not
That’s why, Mama cried, distraught,
You’ll never grow old

The universe has other plans for me
But Mama, don’t cry, I’ll sail for eternity
In neither water nor blood, but in a sea of stars
Away to dreamland, away from wars
Away from a future which could’ve been ours
Away from home, away from Mama
Away in a boat drifting to nirvana
And you’ll stay here, while I disappear

But our memories, l will forever hold dear
