E tenebrae

First Sonnet from The Apotheosis of Solitude
Within the strictures of the sonnet form
A pilgrim ploughs the page of rough-hewn art
But art will not a human heart keep warm;
safe from the shadows cold: therefore, in part,
I pen this poetโs missive with scant hope
of spending just one hour in your lightโฆ
(Forgive me this; my clumsy sputtered trope:
and blame me not ~ for I can naught but write)
In part I write to bring your light close by
And flood the evanescence of the sea.
Let mirror of the sea reflect the sky
And find your gift and splendour โlight on me.
To draw me from the darkness of my fears
And gift its definition to the spheres.

My Dear Friend and Brother Poet Jason,
The twenty-first Century has it's first Shakespeare, an undiscovered Master, whose works need to reach the multitudes. ย His words glide you o'er the seas of tranquility. ย They lift you to the far away stars, and drop you off in Nirvana. ย Intoxicate us more, ye "Man For All Seasons".
Peace and Love,

I had to read this 'cos I'm glued to the story...You're a writer indeed
Eloquently written Jason....The sonnet is indeed the perfect platform for a poet to express his devotion.
Most enjoyable read........Mick.
Before you go much further...this is in the context of a new story 'The Apotheosis of Solitude'; of which these latest poems are an integral part of the text.
Not that I'm telling you what to do or anything!!
