EFFING AND BLINDING

Molly Perkins was old and lived next door
Her son a sailor came home from the war
I lived with my parents and was nearly nine
Heard words from Molly as horrific as Frankenstein

Effing and blinding Molly swore through the day
I heard them all when I came home to play
My mother covered my ears but was too late
Molly's choice words had alas sealed my fate

They were bad as mother's face turn red
Don't repeat them she told me as I went to bed
Mother whispered softly to me said goodnight
That's when she encountered a terrible freight

A mouse scurried and hurried on my floor
Mother startled and was worried for sure
What came next I certainly didn't expect
I think the word bloody came into effect
