Poem -

Electrocuted

You were my spark.

I just drifted by, my eyes never lost sight of the floor,
But you lifted my head.
My lips were always glued shut,
But you invited my pearly whites out.
I never could feel a single thing,
But you shocked my heart.
My laugh was unknown,
But you tickled it out of me.
The color pink had never even met my cheeks,
But you introduced us.
My nights were ever so somber,
But you drove by and pumped dreams into my head.

I had lived my life a lie, until you spoke up.
Until you made me rediscover my capabilities,
Until you made me notice the burning stars each night.
Each one its own spark, and you - mine.

The smallest flame just about made the biggest wildfire.
And those, my friend, are dangerous.

You made me notice you, reeled me in,
Scorched me with inspiration and new hope,
But the spark was just as anxious to blow out as it was to ignite,
But the damage was done -
Destroying part of my world with its eager escape.
