The End of the Begin

The lion no longer sleeps, his bed is cold
The deer leap from fear of the storm moving in
Lightening strikes the tallest of trees, they crash
Splitting in two, their limbs spark into flames
I see my life flashing by, the wild horses flee
As I look down at the enemy, the cry of the wolf
In the furry of the storm, I will leave this place
For I have given my everything, in the mist of smoke
Covering our forests, our land, where man has torched
The valleys of roaming buffalo, now lay down, burning
With the desire to live, each mound of rubble
Native heart beats in time, where the turkey vultures fly
Over the dead, the corpses of crime, and punishment
The end, or the begin? I feel the heat and madness
Conquering my only mission, to give myself, my blood
And know, my country has been touched, no one denies
We began, and we shall end, but our truth shall not be shy
Living in spirit, the whimpering willows blow in the wind
While we shall find the road that leads us to eternity
