THE END OF DAYS

My soul went to the stars who always gift me peace
But tonight these same stars brought no relief,
For at my feet was an outpouring of grief
So heartrending my soul could not fly.
In her agony Mother Earth cried out to me.."Why?"
Then those stranger-stars lifted meĀ
And from their height I saw her
Ravaged and torn, scarred and plundered.
I felt the stars mourn for a child
Enduring more than should be borne.
A celestial child lost and dying.
Overwhelmed with her grief I joined the stars,
Crying.
