Equilibrium

Equilibrium

Balance, such a fascinating concept,
a status of wholly undebatable equality,
yet in Its most fundamental form unattainable.
How long, I ask, can one hover between,
straddle a fence, Walk the razor's edge,
Stand unmoving on the precipice?
Before, as all things must, falling.
Thus is life. Yet we do not treat it so.
When has anyone ever tried,
intentionally, mind you,
to unbalance their humours,
to disalign their chakras,
to derail the flow of energy?
IS that not the more natural course?
Water does not flow between elevation and decline,
does it?
A river will not flow across a flat plain.
Without inequality of some form,
No thing can move.
Nothing can progress.
Nature provides us a means of energy, gravity,
it roots us to the ground, and pulls us with it.
Man has provided himself a method, lift,
with which he can escape the inexorable pull.
Why then, praytell,
so many choose to defy nature?
Top defy the laws of this world for no reason?
Even the baby birds, gifted flight and gravity,
find resolution when they're thrust from the nest,
to fly or fall, to find their own way.
Yet we, fools we are, hang by a finger, unsure.
Afraid of the ground, so we climb,
yet terrified of the sky, so we dangle,
What is the purpose of such idiocy!?
We can accomplish nothing.
Yet so is the world we inhabit.
The confederacy of Dunces made real,
Men and women with lead in their shoes,
Hanging themselves by balloon ropes,
Dying in their lack of motivation.
All in a hope of preserving what IS,
A scientific principle ridiculously applied to life,
a farce in the symbolic dictionary,
A detestable word by its lack of virtue,
Equilibrium.

A genuine and interesting write Dmitri,
Your talent to write on such and similar topics so craftily is astounding and refreshing :)

Ingenuine; antithesis of genuine, being not true or sincere. Ex. His mothers offer to let him drive the car was blatantly ingenuine.

Oopsies,
I would have gone my entire life thinking it meant the exact opposite :D
