Every poem I read

Every poem I read

Why is every poem I read lately
About undying passion and commitment
Or aching, crippling heartbreak,

It simply reminds me
I have never felt the first
And I'm all too familiar with the second,

I am starving for kisses that steal my breath
I am yearning for hands that know my every curve
I am craving lips that make promises I believe,

The aching always comes back
If only for a little while
I may not have loved you, but it still hurts,

It hurts purely as it is a reminder
That no one has cared enough to stay
That everyone looses interest in the end
And that those who don't hurt me so much I can't possibly stay.
