Praise be

Praise be

IĀ  don't know what the future holds,
But God went silent years ago
Ā
God went silent as screams ripped from my chest
So silent as the weight dropped with its full force on my spine
As my knees shattered under the weight
As my last piece of will broke, unrecoverable
Ā
God stayed silent as I dragged my feet under myself
So silent as I forced myself upright shoving the weight off
As I realised my real worth
As I took my rightful place
Ā
Praise be to God? Praise be to me!
Ā
