Evolution

Evolution

(A)    the little one cowers in the safety of his couch,
but how safe is he from the things that he doesn't see?
he see's prime time pornography and rape, on channel 4,
his mind's ready to be filled with degrading tales of violence and gore.

(B)    violent scenes from pen and ink to human flesh and blood
and half naked beauty queens down wrestling, in the mud,
Saturday morning cartoons show fun in de-cep-tivi-ty
our youngest get older while believing they can get what they want for free.

(7.4)    Tomorrow's world is created today
Moulded by what's shown on television, IT'S
    E-vo-LU-TION!
Tomorrow's society will cave IN on itself
Tomorrow's children have no chance unless we put a stop to this
    E-vo-LU-TION!

(C)    toys that mame and toys that kill advertised between kid's shows
a nuclear bomb construction set will make your child's smile, glow,
naked bodies in shower soap commercials, tease the adolescent mind
young boys become men and it's to late then when rape is not cross-ing the line

(D)    television has degraded to it's unacceptable lows where violence, is the norm
how will this shape tomorrow's world will the human race survive in such form?
we've got 2 help our kids now b4 it becomes to late an'ers nothing left to save
one of these kids who grew up on tv rape wil 1 day decide 4 us our fate.

(repeat 7.4)

:O  Thank you Georgina!  I was going to write that the subject were quite dated at early 1989 of it's writing but ... quite a few things within it, still ring true to this day, sadly. :-/
Aye.  Many things to think about, as I often do - wondering; analyzing; et cetera.

Respect.

I know what you mean! I`ve always been too analytical for my own good, but it all came in handy when I studied forensic criminal psychology at night school!! lol Keep on truckin kid! Love G xx

Forensic Criminal Psychology! 8-O  MUCH respect!  What a field to have learned within!  OMG! :o

Too analytical!  ROFL!  Sorry but ... I've been told no fewer than 3 times in my life, that I'm always analyzing things too much!  Haha.  Since the last occasion especially, I've been trying harder and harder to just 'follow my gut' / intuition / et cetera.  Every now and then then, I stop myself and start pondering ... haha. ;)

Kid! :D  In the last few demonstration videos that I'd done a couple of years ago, I'd started self-ID'ing as "Grampa Ryk". (Even though I've never had any children, still ... ;) ) Thankee tho! :D

Respect. :)

You are still only a kid! I`m a lot older than you!! but carry on following your intuition as it`s an important part of the human psyche and it makes for great writing too lol!! G xx

Still only a kid? ;)  That is quite accurate, actually ... just a few years ago in reading, I learned that it most often appears that a Philosopher naturally has, a 'child like mind'.  For all of my years of self-analyzing, I had never realized that.  It were like every lightbulb that I've had above my head over the years, suddenly popped in realization. :o :)
(I self-realized in early '98 that I have a philosophical mind as well.)

THAT, realization, brought so many questions over the years to a conclusion.  Situationally dependent, I can be anywhere from 5 to self-imagined 80 years of age.  All dependent on the surroundings, people inclusive.

I often claim that my middle name is "Why?" ;)

Intuition makes for great writing too?  Now that, is something that I've never considered.  More fuel to keep me awake soon, as I attempt to slumber. :D Lol.

Age matters not to me.  Only who, one is. :)

Respect.

Briefly years ago, I'd pondered Psychology.  But ... as with everything else, except for 6 years of guitar lessons and 2 years of bass guitar lessons ... I'm completely self-taught, in every interest / hobby.
It takes a heckuva lot longer to learn that way but, I do have great deals of patience stored away, that I'm able to draw from ... when I let myself. ;)

Many an answer I could have had answered, as you've indicated but ... I have fun learning on my own, in every respect. :)

Respect. :)

We both seem to have a lot in common Ryk which is great fun. I`m also self taught through books from the library. I get 12 books on my card and they allow three weeks to read them, I will literally read anything academic! I`ve read books on astro physics and really surprised myself when I actually understood it! and enjoyed it! My son challenged me to read it and I just love a challenge! But my favourite subject is forensic criminal psychology. I studied it at night school and received an A* level, the only one in the class of 25! the other adult students recieved a basic GCSE and there were four policemen and two policewomen in the class with me, it was great fun. GCSE`s are similar to the old "O" levels here in England, I don`t know what you have over there where you are though!? I was hopeless at school, but since the kids became independant I`ve gone crazy for learning and I just love it, I just wish I had the money to go to University!! I started writing poetry in 2013 and didn`t even know all those poems were in me! I have no idea where they come from.... lol!!! I`ve enjoyed your poetry, but it is very different from mine as I`m just a plain and simple writer! you are way above my level of ability though!!! G xx

Duh.  Sorry G.  I forgot to reply to this. :o :)

Reading.  Yes!  Everything!  All of the time.  Learn, learn learn.  Haha.  It's cool to see someone else doing that as well! :D
Time though, for myself.  My wife is home on Long Term disability, whilst her first knee heels from replacement, awaiting scheduling to have the 2nd one replaced.  (Severe arthritis in both.)  Due to that, it's very hard to find reading time.  (Outside of the Internet.)
ASTRO PHYSICS!  OMG!  Looking to team up with Professor (Astro Physics) Brian May from Queen? :D
Crim. For. Psych.  I LOVE Psychology!  I've studied people, just out of my own interest, since the Summer of '86, sitting in the bar I worked at after work there, with my best friend - just watching patrons. Haha.  I've been studying human kind ever since.
A* level in a class of 25 and there were cops in there?! :O :D  T'was your mind!  Made for it. :D
Over here?  Bachelors, Masters, Professor .... I'm missing 1 or 2 levels, I'm sure.  Haven't bothered WITH School since '86. :P Lol.  I've forgetted it all.  Haha.
Just now read - yourself, hopeless at school. HA!  Myself as well!  I couldn't STAND it!  I never wished to apply myself.  I had heard teachers telling my parents that, SINCE Kindergarden!  Maintaining 'focus' on things, (due to the extreme # of things usually in my head) is often a trouble.  I'm not Attention Deficit suffering (that I know of), but, I have so many (TOO many) interests in life; often shifting between at times ... :-/
Crazy for learning.  As well. :D  All of my life. :)
Yourself, just  a plain and simple writer?  Uhh, NO! :O  HAhahahaa.  An extremely attractiing writing, writer.  (How's that, for grammar? :P Lol.)  Otherwise, mine interest wouldn't be where it is. :)
Way above YOUR level?  Nadda chance.  I'm terrible at this bloody Anglitch langwitch, as well as it being my 1st. :P  Too many odd rules in it. Haha.  I far, FAR prefer the rules in Latin (original) and Mandarin Chinese.  Both have been far, FAR easier to learn. :o

Back to hobbying, whilst I've time today. :o :)

Warmth; respect. :)
