Experience

Experience

Have you been sky diving? Or maybe written a book?
What about climbing a mountain, no matter how long it took,
Have you worked abroad? Given your time to charity?
Raised a family or just gobbled everything greedily?

He's going to ask you when eventually you arrive,
you may not have done things, on which many people thrive;
why should I climb mountains, jump out of a plane,
you don't - why should you worry, not coming back again.

Three out of six may be okay, who cares, so they say,
when I was up the mountain, I couldn't get down, hey -
why didn't you tell me that it was going to be this way?
Anyway, I wrote the book, pretending I'd enjoyed the day.

You had all those years, all you spoke about was fears,
all you had to do was become one of those volunteers.
