Facing Demons

To black out into nothing, to fade away into darkness of the night.
To drift off into an unseen illusion of unchanged possibilities.
To not be seen for the mistakes of your weakness nor,
To not be seen for the embarrassment of your scares you cannot hide in plain sight.
Venturing into the a bliss of uncertainty and being known for your transgressions,
Being judge comes easily to those that have not been brave enough to face their own demons.
I have seen my enemies, I have faced my past and I have conquered my demons.
I stand here before you a changed and renewed person, my bruises tells a story of each battle I won.
You stand before me with no scares to bare, no legacy to leave.
Yet you have judgment in your eyes.
May you learn to overcome your demons or let them shallow you whole for your lies.

Carmen, I would like to say you are a very gifted writer. This is one of my favorite poems because as I read each line it really touched my heart and made me think of all the demons I've faced and continue to face. Keep on writing poetry Carmen because your work is remarkable.
