Fading World

Standing on the shoreline, sand barely touching my feet,
what I'd taken for granted was more than a treat.
A time to remember when we walked common ground,
now the kiss from an Ocean is the only essence I've found.
As salt falls through tears, endless drowns out the day
and moments in time are the depths without a say.
I'm searching for that welcome back into living,
because I'm arms length in this quicksand of sinking.
waiting for answers when God decides to step in,
correcting topsy-turvy on the winds as we spin.
Our countries run a marathon that's set to call, stall,
as beauty turns black while the rose petals fall.
By the Sea I weep as the world echoes, ''fragile,''
touched by an earthquake, hurricanes, hail.
I fall to my knees while earth's emotion is hurled,
reaching for a hand, in a fading world.

Hello Susan
you have some exquisite wording in this poem. For me it reads like a tragedy of the earth, as we as humans detach ourselves from its beautiful natural wonders. A fading planet that only few seem to sense
