Faith inside the cave

Faith inside the cave

I run to the woods, escaping all that surrounds me

I inclose myself, isolated from what's behind the trees.

I can't go back there I said, it’s too much...

A cave lies ahead. I walk to it and make myself as home.

Above me are crystals, Lighting up as I walk by.

Droplets scurrying down them, falling on my nose.

A chill runs through me, was this the right decision?
The cave darkens, and I hear whispers

I frantically try to locate the noise.

It creates harmony with itself, its beat drums inside my head.

I feel my skull vibrate to the sound.

What is this noise?
I hug my knees and weep.

“Please leave” I whimper

“I never go away” It calls back..
