Fall Nights
The leaves waltz across the damp grass.
The bare branches sway to the music of the wind.
The crisp air drags against my tightened skin.
Warm tea hugging my top lip and filling my stomach with heat, comforting my soul.
Thick, wool, blankets waiting to accompany me to the depths of my bed.
The somber noise of the roaring pianos spin off the record player resembling the patters of the rain hitting the hard glass window of my bedroom.
The cackle of the fire whispers in the background of the keynotes.
As the sun sets and the moon makes its appearance with clouds hanging over it like curtains before a play.
The thunder calling for my attention as it cracks through the sky with furry.
The chilled, fall night washes over me with comfort and yearning of winter.

your prose is excellent, beautiful description, Zoe, Dblankportrait is one of the best if not the best poet on here, and he has a valid point about formatting; 'it will help in reading it from the angle of poetry...' right now it reads as a paragraph from a book, your words are perfect, very fresh and vivid, like this one plenty, cheers poet
D, I hope I didn't offend, Zoe with my 'elusive compliment' to you... I really like your poem, Zoe, hand on heart, peace
