Family Christmas

Another year will soon conclude,

As we get in the party mood.

To celebrate this Christmas time,

With mistletoe and warm mulled wine.

People show their tender side,

With their family, They abide.

Eat and drink to excess,

far too much I must confess.

But it's only once a year,

As we sing, Dance and drink cold beer.

Showering gifts on all our friends,

High tech gadgets, The latest trends.

Online shopping for what we require,

To help realize our Heart's desire.

Children have such a high expectation,

As we strive to gain their adoration.

To hear their screams as they run round,

It truly is my favorite sound.

Tearing paper ,cutting bows,

So much fun as we all know.

As we gather round the Christmas table,

To eat as much as we are able.

Then it's time for the traditional walk,

to wear off the food and have time to talk.

Return to gather round the fire,

Playing games until we tire.

Finally, everyone will depart,

Then it's time to make a start,

Preparing for the new year,

One last party, Wine and beer
