Family Ties

My family ties,
They are a noose
That hangs me from my hope.
So far off my pedestal,
They'd dare not cut my rope.
They'd watch me struggle,
Watch me choke.
Theyd be the ones to shove
My family tree is almost dead,
And all it needed was ove.
