Farewell To Millburn

The rain is drizzling and it is getting so cold.
The road that I'm walking is paved with fool's gold.
The hour I'm not sure, but it's well past the dawn,
Farewell to Millburn, soon I will be gone.
Too many years and too many lies,
Beneath your guppy smile and mascara eyes.
And your mercury laugh and confusing glow,
I might loose my mind If I do not go.
I whistle a tune that sinks deep in my mind,
about how the moon's been so harsh, and the sun so kind.
And all the colorful flowers have burnt with the leaves
I stand alone with the haunted trees.
Thank you again, all the friends that I've known.
For the memories we've shared and the love that you've shown
But, I am afraid all that's high must eventually fall.
Not much is set in stone after all.
To the scholars, and stoners for farewell's sake.
You are all made of plastic, you're all so fake.
But you must know winter to love the sun,
And it's from all of you that I should run.
So I wrote you this song just to say goodbye.
I want to be honest, so I'm not going to lie
This road to joy, why is it so long?
Fare thee well to Millburn, soon I will be gone.
