Poem -

The Grand Departure

In the darkness, we fled

Blinded by some languid sorrow

That lurked in our hearts

In the sunlight, we danced

Naked skin on the floor

Of some musical arcade

Whose youth would be lit

with a gentle touch

Forget the past that haunts

Most every step you take

Or the vicious wounds to the flesh of

The autumn leaves and rake

Enlighten me with thou special gift

Of stepping off the road

And guide me down this darkened path

The deep and dark unknown

For it is I who must believe

That in the loathsome bridges and tunnels

Lay a little strip of paper

A note that remains unwritten

Oh write me when I am gone

Something to hold
