Poem -

Feel Me...See Me

Feel Me...See Me

See my face know my heart,
see my fear torn apart.
See my face look at yours,
see Ā your hands the hurt they cause.
See the bruise, see the scar,
see the burns from your cigar.
See the tears that streak my Ā cheek,
see me crushed and Ā think I’m weak.
Feel me shudder with the pain,
feel me shrinking once again.
Feel no pity, no remorse,
feel the power, feel the force.
Feel the change that’s taking place,
see the anger on my face,
see the light now in my eyes,
see just how I realise.
Feel me close and sense my heat,
feel me gone and hear my feet
Feel my strength to turn and say,
ā€˜see my back’ and walk away!
Ā

Authors Note...I am republishing this poem in tribute to my dear friend who this weekend married a wonderful man Ā having been through Ā a previous abusive relationship Ā that originally prompted my poem. I hope this will show that there is hope, light and the promise of a better future if you can just walk away.

Beautifully written, Loki!!Ā
I absolutely loved that. I mean, it's hard to read, because it happens, and I don't understand it, but it hits hard, and was totally engaging, and beautiful.Ā
I'm so happy to have you as my grammy.Ā
Really great, my friend.Ā

Thank you so much my Honourary Grandson.♄.yes you are right it is hard to write about as, in truth we would much rather believe that such horror never goes on..but it does..and when we stay silentĀ  people are hurt and destroyed by it ..even speaking about it doesn't always help as this is such a 'secret' 'shameful' thing that anyone affected by it is afraid to speak outĀ  or take action..when someone.....anyone.....does -then that's a little victory..and encouragement for anyone else who needs it to take that first step towards safety and a happier future.Ā  You make your grammy very proud with your lovely comments ..Thank you xx
