Feeling Set in Stone

Seems like there’s a black hole in my life
Over the years’ time takes its toll
stooping lower with every twist of the knife
I tried to reach out
But the times never right
These surroundings are grim
Although I put up more than a fight
I’m scarred from your crossfire
My bark it’s worse than my bite
Feeling drained and empty
My integrity takes flight

I feel gone with the horrors
I faced each and every day
It’s alright bringing me up
Just don’t bring me up this way
The whole of my existence it’s distorted
My ideas just fade to grey
The living rooms dark and dusty
Just like my feelings I keep at bay
The only thing set in stone
Says I slowly drifted away
Further from the light
I never did find my way
