The Fifth Avenue Queen

"Chuckie was just a pawn in the machine,
Known all over as the Fifth Avenue Queen.
His business took him through the hot sweaty nights,
For those of us who had eyes on different sights.
With his eyebrows plucked and doused in perfume,
His mind resembled your upstairs deserted room.
It's all happenin' here on the street;
Little kids cryin', women to meet.
Car lights flashin' in the night,
Kings on the left, Queens on the right.
It was cool and starless on April the fifth,
When Tommy finished his work on the graveyard shift.
She caught Tommy's eye on 6th and Main,
How was he to know that she would cause him pain.
He thought his paycheck could take them through the paces,
Hand in hand they headed for the "Hotel of Aces".
It's all happenin' here on the street;
Little kids cryin', women to meet.
Car lights flashin' in the night,
Kings on the left, Queens on the right.
What happened next could never be told,
It's the same old story, whenever souls are sold;
Some make their fortunes by rolling the dice,
Others have kids and a spouse that's nice.
Poor Chuckie couldn't make it this far,
Due to his quirks and an unlucky star.
