Step Outside Your Realm

Stop, sit, and for a moment step outside your realm

Allow the likes of Rod Sterling take the helm

Take a deep breath, relax, and take an open look at your space

Is everything in balance, in its right place?

Or could you be much like myself

With items in disarray from floor to shelf

It's supposed to be healthy to just step away

From the hassles of day to day

But how easy is it to just look and not ponder

How long does it take before your mind starts to wander

What bothers you the most? Your past?

Or old age creeping up on us fast

At an early age life's lessons were taught

How we should not fear or become distraught

As you take a look at your sense of well being

Answer this: Is it you or some great puppet master on the string

That leads you through this life

Setting the pace of the troubles or strife

Is man really in control of his own destiny

Or is it really in the hands of a great deity

As you sit and observe yourself through good and bad

And think about the love you share or had

Did you do as you wish

Life's task you accomplish

Or is there still an item that's not quite right

And you can't put a finger on it, try as you might

Sometimes to remove yourself from that situation

Is in order to be refreshed with new infatuation

As you return from your trek with your minds new power

Remember to stop and smell the rose or flower

It's not only peace of mind that you lose

If the harder path you continually choose

For if you believe in the likes of the Koran, Torah, or Bible

Sooner or later only you will be held liable
