THE FINAL FLUTTER
In the blink of an eye
she flutters on by
flapping her wings
to the tune of my strings
resonating the reason
my lonely heart sings.
In the wink of an eye
she drifts on by
flashing her flair
to my song of despair
realizing the reason
my head stops to stare.
Then she falls...
from heavenly, picturesque skies
and I catch the breath
of my butterflies death
crying as she dies.
I miss out on the wish
of her lips on my kiss
for the love of my life
no longer exists.
Yet she rests right here
in the palms of my hands
cold and lifeless
still where I stand
and all I could do
Β was watch as she lands.
Then I closed my eyes
and I beckoned to yell
but my heaven on earth
hadΒ now become hell.
It was all too lateΒ
for I could not tell
that beautiful butterfly
held me under her spell.

Wow, this was beautiful, descriptive, vivid, seamlessly fluid..and need I even mention the flow, I was waiting for the pace and flow to randomly stop but it went straight through to the end you have my vote
