Finding You
Wading through the undergrowth of you
I find trinkets left behind
Their shine has gone
Riddled with Blight
The sight makes my eyes well
Heart swell
I dwell
This hell you have manifested
Invested in for so long
Eats away at you
Grinding your heart to a different song
Where you feel no light belongs
Cascading dreams
Loosely cling to misused hopes
That bring no chance of evoking -
Promoting within your heart -
A spark
Left in the dark
I embark to find away -
To brighten your dismal day
Attentively -
I gather up those disused treasures
I endeavour to storm your weather
Cradling those once prize possessions
Obsessions from a past -
You fear you can no longer have
I slide -
Glide my hands across their shell
Using all the love inside my heart
I try in time -
To make them shine
Desperate to help renew
In the hopes within their light
I might once again find you

Gwen a well written and beautifully melancholy in spades poem but also ending on that great virtue called hope.
The hope that things change for the better and a brighter tomorrow, which in life they do, albeit slowly but at least they move in the right direction.
It always seems when one least expects it that it happily occurs.
And also in your poem you use a magic word.
That said magic word being a spark and that all it takes sometimes,
one tiny yet powerful poetic spark.
Another touch of poetry class you have captivatingly delivered and full honours bestowed.
