finish line

finish line

With immediate effect I’m depleted
From the moment I write this I’m done
If you read this you’re reading the let go
The last that I had is now gone

I’d drained and I’m weak and not stable
I’ve given my last, nothing’s left
There’s no compromise; that part of me’s gone
Replaced with cold peace and a hole in my chest

Forgiveness is just an idea
It’s never that simple, we’re far too complex
But when you’re the one that’s to blame for your choices
It’s this that can cloud your next steps

I know where I’m going, I know what I’ll do
And now that I don’t have to give
This tortuous freedom filled desolate void
Is the vacuous home where I’ll live.
