Fire in the Sky

Smoke upon the troubled waters, fogging the land with a ghastly smell
Black as coal, rolling, smothering, gagging fumes of death
The red hot waving prairie grasses, send their farewells, now vanished in flames
The sky burns with intense heat, exhausting, burning bushes
Like running scared, naked bodies, it rages with demon eyes of sin
Blood of golden red, veins of flesh, bulging with mad desire
Not knowing how to see through, unable to climb the walls of firing hell
Wounded Knee, Apache's slain, along with other native tribes
Yet Buffalo Bill's legend lives, while native men still buried, none the same
All I know is on that day, all treaties were broken
The ink on documents forgotten, turning to brown ash
In the cannonball storm of fire in the sky
