Firefall born at Yosemite

Bright and aglow  

You’re beyond beauty

What and why your water blazes

Makes you a flowing enigma

Firefall, such a splendid mystery

Firefall is a natural phenomena that takes place at Horsetail Falls in Yosemite National Park.  It is a sight that many refer to as beyond spectacular.  Only appearing on rare occasions, the falls seem to be on fire.  How and why this happens still remains a bit of a scientific mystery.   However, most scientists believe this optical allusion is in part caused by the sunlight refracting on flowing water with a high concentration of minerals. 

Whatever the reason, the sight of the Firefall leaves even the greatest skeptic breathless.  A video link to this beautiful site has been posted below.
