FIRST BREATH

FIRST BREATH

You raised me from a girl
Into a young woman all on your own
And every night you tucked me up in bed
When mummy wasn't home
You told me bedtime stories
Made me breakfast every morning
You gave me the only real affection
That I've ever known
I hope you knew what I couldn't say out loud
When I grow up
I hope I make you so very proud
I know at times you got scared
When things got a little rough
Raising 3 kids on your own
Can feel really tough
You're  my inspiration
From my first breath taken
Don't ever feel like you could have
Done more
dad you did enough
I wanna say thank you for all you've done
You weren't just my dad but also my mum.
