A first Kiss

Cold October rain,
brave fashionable girl,
no coat just thin cheesecloth
which held puddles of water
like it's designed to do
I was at the fair, must have
been 15 years old,
the music I could hear
replays in my dreams,
he had ginger hair,
 ..older than me
he said he'd take me home
 in the rain,
I walked like my sandals
didn't hurt, holding his hand
in case he ran away
he gave me his denim jacket
to wear..wrapping it round
and kissed me..as the water
fell down our cheeks
I couldn't feel anything
but the warmth he lent me
just that one sweet moment
and I've never felt it since..
