Forever Love
Never Will I Leave

The distant thunder opened my eyes
Drew me out of dreams of the Sundance
I was proud in that sanctity as I moved with the wind in my regalia as grandfathers watched with happiness
And grandmothers clasped their leathered hands
I rose like an appaloosa that had fallen
And quietly I took my leave so as not to wake my sleeping Kwe Animkii
Thunder Woman, my forever love...
would not see me leave our teepee
And I let her sleep...and let her have the Sundance
I look to the red horizonÂ
Just below, I saw the bison
Tatanka, so many of them
Tatanka, I am coming
My horse and I are one
As my bow and my arrowsÂ
Tonight I will bring Kwe Animkii my kill
And we shall have our fill
After we have feasted on your gifting meat
We shall have our fill of love
I return to our teepee and find Kwe Animkii in sadness
On her knees and in prayer
"Sweet, sweet love of my heart, I am back. Back with the gifting tatanka."
She rose up like a whirlwind and embraced me
"I thought you were gone forever."
"Kwe Animkii.." I cried. " It is our love that's forever."

Such a beautiful read, I absolutely loved how you drew the reader into the spirit of this piece. The elements and nature oozed through my imagination. Your imagery really gave the reader a good feel for the theme and setting. Topping it off with a lovely ending on love. Truly enjoyedÂ
