Forever young

Forever young

We reminisce and talk of lives lost long ago

Honeyed sweet sixteen kisses, angelic and pure

When life was limitless and time paused, seemingly eternal

Our spotlight of stars sparkled like sequins on velvet drapes;

 This was our defining hour

We danced at the edge of the universe with the world at our feet

Only to let it slip away into darkness and solitude

Was it really us, or someone else’s moment from a vintage dream?

If, I am only a delusional beholder, don’t wake me, let me sleep

For there, we captivate and allure the audience, forever young

And beautiful
