Words

Words

Words
the ones that fail
to leave your lips
pierce my silence.
They cut throughΒ
the pitch blacknessΒ
into pieces of
unbearable stillness.
And there they sit
throbbing, pulsatingΒ
with unrest, longing;
with burning desire.
To escape your thoughtsΒ
thoughts that stir
the dead of night
that jar my mind.
The ones that failΒ
to reach your lips
pierce my silenceΒ
words.
