Paper Rain

Photo by me

Paper Rain

As the whole world sleeps
I listen to whispers of the moon
Silence becoming ever louderΒ
Distance irrelevantly close.

Dreams settle on my lashes
Like morning dew on flowers
The breath of dawn slumbers
While the night colours drain.

Trees motionless and still
Awaiting the sky to remember;
how to sigh, to weep, to cry.
Interlude. Lull. Nothingness.Β

Yesterday dries on my tongueΒ
Tomorrow’s taste not yet here
Paper rain cuts our secrecyΒ
Pitter-patter rhythms soothe.Β
