Forgive Me Father

Forgive Me Father

Good little girl
hands folded in prayer
The thoughts in her head
she dare not share

Plaid to the left
black to the right
Oh those thoughts in her head
kept her up late at night.

If Sister knew of them
and ever should tell
There’s no doubt about it
she’d go right to hell.

A confession to Father
In his little brown box
Would have her praying forever
In a room tightly locked.

So hushed she continued
never saying a peep
But how she loved the thoughts in her head
as they lulled her to sleep.

Thank you Lauren. It came to me while I was baking Christmas cookies yesterday! ☃️?.  Glad you enjoyed and, yes, Madonna ??

Nice.  The capacity to forgive is a virtue that can never be understated.
